Quattro was engaged to provide construction phase design services. Quattro staff lead and developed concept, detail and contract documentation.
The development comprises an ESS 56 bed extension to an existing 56 bed RAC F. The extension includes a two storey residential component, with low care on ground level and high care on level 1. Residential areas are divided into two houses of approximately 14 beds placed either side of a central common lounge and dining room.
The extension includes a new provisions for the entire facility. These include: a full production fresh cook kitchen; a central commercial laundry; goods dock; waste, gases and chemical storage.
Quattro was responsible for advising and competing design during the construction phase and to provide design continuity from concept through to completion, this included: detail resolution of all planning and design matters; consultation with contractors to determine appropriate construction methods and resultant architectural outcomes; design and documentation of additional works and major variations; and coordination of design issues during construction to safeguard Commonwealth certification.
