NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AUSTRALIA
The Resistance Exhibit is located within the Gallery of First Australians at the National Museum of Australia.
The exhibit explores different responses to Indigenous-settler violence. Four case studies from differing regions and contrasting historical circumstances reflect a range of inter-cultural violence and occupation.
The exhibit emphasises personal testimony to both give an Indigenour voice, and make apparent the ongoing resonance of historial events to contemporary Indigenous communities.
Spatial and graphic elements of the exhibit concept design work were utilised to strengthen the understanding of the relationship between these personalised events and spatial landscapes.
