The Goolarri Exhibit is located within the Gallery of First Australians in the National Museum of Australia.

The exhibit gives visitors an insight into the workings of Goolarri Media Enterprises (GME). GME is a self reliant, dynamic young indigenous media company based in Broome, producing music, television, radio, communications and community event management.

While managing the complex curatorial and building servicing issues associated with the Museum building type, the exhibit transformed an awkward space under a stair into a vibrant integrated spatial and multimedia visitor experience.

The Goolarri Exhibit was recognised by the RAIA:
ACT Chapter of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects

 2007 Small Project Architecture Commendation

The jury stated:
“The simple design concept and the faultless execution allows individuals, families or groups of students, young and old, to move effortlessly through and enjoy this important display of the contribution of Goolarri to Contemporary and traditional Australian culture”
